What to expect at EPIC 2027, and whether the HVAC conference is worth it

EPIC 2027 runs 25 to 26 February 2027 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, presented by Contractor University and OPTIMUS. The organizer positions it as business training, entertainment and networking for the home services industry, and the speaker list leans hard on names from outside the trades. Here is what is actually on, what it costs, and who gets the most out of two days.

Why EPIC is worth it if you run an HVAC or home services company

EPIC is a two day conference rather than a trade show, and the program is built around business training for home services contractors. The organizer lists sessions covering operations, marketing, AI and automation, sales, technology, leadership and commercial HVAC specialization, plus pre events aimed at specific contractor groups. That is a broad spread for two days, which means the value depends almost entirely on choosing your sessions in advance rather than drifting.

The headline speakers are a deliberate mix of industry and mainstream: the organizer names NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis, comedian Jim Gaffigan, former FBI negotiator Chris Voss, behavioral researcher Vanessa Van Edwards and Liquid Death founder Mike Cessario, alongside more than thirty industry experts. If you are cynical about keynote speakers, the practical read is that Chris Voss on negotiation is directly useful to anyone selling a five figure system in somebody's home, and the rest is there to make the room worth being in.

Pricing is where EPIC differs most from the other Las Vegas events. Contractor University members are eligible for free tickets depending on membership tier, non member contractors are listed at 1,095 dollars and non contractors at 1,595 dollars, with the organizer noting that prices increase on 1 November 2026. If you already hold a Contractor University membership the arithmetic is very different from a cold ticket purchase, and that is the first thing to check before you budget the trip.

Planning your EPIC 2027

The two days, the pre events and who they suit

The main program runs across 25 and 26 February, with pre events on the days before. The organizer lists a Distributor Day on Wednesday 24 February at the Bellagio for senior management in HVAC distribution businesses, and a golf scramble at Angel Park Golf Course before the conference opens. There is also an evening party, sold separately at 250 dollars for anyone who wants the networking without the sessions. EPIC suits an owner or general manager who wants a compressed hit of training and a large peer network, and suits a technician far less. If you want a longer, workshop style format instead, Acceleration Days runs three days in Orlando, and if roofing is part of your mix, RoofCON covers the same business and leadership ground for that trade.

What we do for the companies in that room

An HVAC comfort advisor sits in front of homeowners all week selling replacement systems, and the difference between a good week and a bad one is rarely the price book. It is whether the advisor found the real problem, built enough value before quoting, and asked for the decision. None of that is visible from a dispatch board or a closing percentage, which is why coaching in most home services companies is a monthly meeting about numbers rather than a weekly conversation about behavior.

SalesAsk records the appointment from the rep's own phone and scores it against the steps your own company teaches. Coach Dean writes the coaching the same day, so a comfort advisor gets feedback while they can still remember the call, and for HVAC companies the notes and next steps sync back into the field service system the office already runs on.

Ask Coach Dean in SalesAsk, showing prompts for reviewing an appointment.

If you are going to Las Vegas in February, book a demo and we will fit it around the conference, then walk your own sales steps through the scorecard so you can do your due diligence and make an informed decision.
