The SBE annual conference and who actually gets value from it
The SBE Annual Conference is run by Service Business Evolution, the coaching and sales training company for HVAC, plumbing and home services contractors. The 2026 conference ran 11 to 13 February 2026 at Gila River Resorts and Casinos, Wild Horse Pass, in Chandler, Arizona. SalesAsk was one of the sponsors listed on the organizer's own event listing. Dates for the next edition have not been announced.

Why a coaching company's conference is not a trade show
Service Business Evolution is a coaching and training business first. It describes itself as a business coaching and sales training program for HVAC, plumbing and home services companies, and says it has worked with more than a thousand contractors. The annual conference is where that client base meets, which makes it structurally closer to a user conference than to an industry expo: the people around you are working from the same playbook, so comparing numbers means something.
The organizer describes the conference as a chance to network with top home service contractors, celebrate business achievements and hear keynote speakers, and it runs an awards ceremony honoring technicians and customer service representatives. That last detail is worth noticing. Most contractor events award the owner. Awarding technicians and CSRs is a retention play, and it tells you the room takes the front line seriously rather than treating it as a cost line.
The 2026 edition ran over three days at Gila River Resorts and Casinos, Wild Horse Pass, in Chandler, Arizona, with a listed sponsor set that included SalesAsk, Workiz and Free2Grow. At the time of writing the organizer has not published dates for a next edition, so if you are building a 2027 calendar, treat it as unscheduled and check with Service Business Evolution directly. The company's regional training days and two day Trusted Technician and Trusted Advisor courses run throughout the year and are a cheaper way to test the material first.
Who should go, and what to test first
This suits an HVAC or plumbing company that is either already coached by SBE or seriously considering it. If you are neither, the two day regional trainings the company runs across the country are a lower cost way to see whether the approach fits your team before committing to a conference trip. For a bigger open industry alternative in the same trades, Service World Expo runs a 200 plus exhibitor floor in Las Vegas each November. On what changes when technician conversations become reviewable, Power Selling Pros is a SalesAsk customer working on the same average ticket problem the SBE curriculum is built around.
Why training a technician to sell is the hard half
Teaching a technician to present options is not the difficult part. The difficult part is knowing, three months later, which of the six things you taught them actually survived contact with a homeowner in a hot attic at four in the afternoon. Ride alongs give you one appointment in a hundred, chosen by the manager's calendar rather than by need, and the technician behaves differently because somebody is standing there.
SalesAsk records the appointment from the rep's own phone and scores it against your own sales steps, so you see the ordinary appointment rather than the observed one. Coach Dean writes the coaching the same day, and the summary and next steps sync into your CRM without the technician typing them. For HVAC and plumbing companies that is how a training investment turns into a measurable change in average ticket rather than an anecdote.

If you want to see that against your own sales steps, book a demo and we will walk them through the scorecard so you can do your due diligence and make an informed decision.
