Who attends the International Builders' Show, and is IBS 2027 worth it

IBS 2027 runs 2 to 4 February 2027 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The NAHB International Builders' Show is the largest annual light construction show in the world, and it is big enough that turning up without a plan is the most expensive way to attend. Here is who is actually in the room, what the week costs you, and how to decide whether it earns the trip.

Why the International Builders' Show is worth it if you sell in the home

IBS is a scale event. The organizer puts the 2027 show at about 78,000 building professionals and more than 1,700 exhibitors across the Las Vegas Convention Center over three days. That scale is both the reason to go and the reason people come home disappointed. Nobody walks 1,700 booths. The builders who get value out of it decide before they fly what two or three problems they are shopping for, book meetings against those problems, and treat everything else as a bonus.

The room is home builders, remodelers, dealers and distributors, plus the wider NAHB member network that sits behind the show. Because IBS 2027 runs as part of Design and Construction Week alongside KBIS, the same badge week pulls in kitchen and bath specialists too. If your business sells a considered purchase through a person, in a model home or across a kitchen table, the people who run those sales teams are in the building that week. That is a different proposition from a pure product show, and it is the reason a sales leader can justify the ticket as easily as a purchasing manager can.

The honest counterweight is cost. Between registration, Las Vegas hotel rates in the first week of February, flights and three days of senior people being away from the business, IBS is not a cheap week for a regional builder. It pays back when you arrive with a shortlist and leave with signed next steps. It does not pay back when you arrive to look around, and the size of the floor makes looking around feel productive right up until you land back home with a bag of brochures.

Planning your IBS 2027

What three days at the Builders' Show actually look like

The expo is organized into product segmentation zones, with outdoor exhibits, a Start-Up Zone, a Home Technology Zone, a New Product Zone and a Jobsite Safety Zone, so you can plan a route instead of wandering. Alongside it NAHB runs the education program, including Game Changers, Super Sessions, Building Knowledge sessions and an AI and Tech Studio, plus pre-show education and demo zones on the floor itself. The two official show homes, The New American Home 2027 and The New American Remodel 2027, are worth half a day if you want to look at build methods and finishes rather than software. If you are weighing IBS against something narrower, the International Roofing Expo two weeks later and JobTread Connect in January are both far easier to work in a single day, and cost a fraction of a Las Vegas week.

What we do for the companies in that room

A community sales counselor or a remodeling salesperson runs the same conversation dozens of times a month, and almost none of it is ever seen by the person who owns the number. A manager reviews what they had time to sit in on, which on a ten person team is a small fraction of what actually happened. Everything else gets reconstructed later from memory and a short CRM note, which is why two reps with the same leads and the same price book can post close rates twenty points apart and nobody can say exactly why.

SalesAsk records the appointment from the rep's own phone and scores it against your own sales steps rather than a generic template. Coach Dean writes the coaching while it is still the same day, and the summary, next steps and notes sync into your CRM without the rep typing them. For home builders that means every model home tour and every community appointment gets reviewed, not only the ones a manager could ride along on.

Ask Coach Dean in SalesAsk, showing prompts for reviewing an appointment.

If you are going to Las Vegas in February, book a demo and we will fit it around your show schedule, then walk your own sales steps through the scorecard so you can do your due diligence and make an informed decision.
